Khempo had great love and respect for His Holiness the Dalai Lama, and had a very warm and close personal relationship with him. In August of 2000, Khempo attended the United Nations Millennium World Peace Summit in New York City as one of a delegation of four senior religious leaders sent by the Dalai Lama. He was humbled and honored to represent the Nyingma Tibetan Buddhist tradition.
